Subsequent to 2017 when, as the photo above shows, the tree was in good condition, it began to deteriorate for some unknown reason. In the survey of 2022 it was found to be in very poor condition and so in the spring of 2023 Colin Holland, Amenities Manager for Woodley Town Council, gave the tree special care and attention. Happily it has made a very good recovery.

In the early 2020s Woodley Town Council planted a community orchard composed of a number of fruit trees alongside and around the Jubilee tree.
